Get into thinqOS

First, request access.

Open this step in the walkthrough

thinqOS is in private preview. You can explore these guides now; you need an approved account to follow the steps inside the app.

  1. Open Request access. Enter your name and work email.
  2. Choose whether this is for you, your team or your organization. The organization field is optional.
  3. Read the contact consent, tick it if you agree, and send your request.

Sending a request does not create an account. The team reviews requests and emails you if a place opens.

Check: You see a Thanks message after submitting your request.

Request access

Use your invitation to join.

Open this step in the walkthrough

When you are approved, follow the link in your invitation email. Use the email address the invitation was sent to.

  1. Open the invitation and follow its account setup steps.
  2. Complete any email verification and review the terms shown to you.
  3. Already have an account? Sign in when prompted to accept the invitation.

No invitation yet? Check your spam folder. A request is not a promise of immediate access. If an invitation has expired, ask the team that invited you for help.

Check: You can open the app after completing the invitation.

Find your way home.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Return to the website and choose Sign in. Use the same sign-in method you used when joining. If you are already signed in, the app may open straight away.

  1. Home is where you can hand over a job and review its result.
  2. Agents is where you find the specialists you work with.
  3. Library holds your folders and documents. Marketplace is where you discover things to add.

Check: You can see Home and the navigation menu.

Open thinqOS

Introduce yourself.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open Settings, then General, then Profile to expand your profile fields. Start with your name and About you. About you is a public description, so keep private instructions and customer details out of it.

  1. Check the name people will see.
  2. Write a sentence about your role and what you work on.
  3. Save your changes. You can come back to the other settings later.

Example About you

I run a small design studio. I help local businesses with branding and social content.

Your Subconscious is your own Mind answering you. An agent is a separate specialist with a specific job. Next, give your own Mind a useful starting point.

Check: Your saved name and description are correct.

Open my profile

Set up your Mind

Start with your business sentence.

Open this step in the walkthrough

On Home, follow the setup steps to Start your Mind. This is your own Mind taking shape. You do not need to create a separate assistant or digital-twin agent.

  1. In “What do you run, in a sentence?”, describe your business in plain language.
  2. Choose the team size that fits. You can give just one of these answers if you prefer.
  3. Continue to the next setup step. Your first job result appears there when it is ready.

Example business sentence

I run a small design studio. We create brand identities and social content for local businesses.

Check: Your business sentence or team size is saved in Home setup.

Open Home

Ask your Subconscious what it knows.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Use the Subconscious from Home or the side panel. It is a way to talk with your own Mind, not another agent to build.

First check-in

What do you know about my business so far? List the facts you are using, and tell me what you are unsure about.

Check: You can see which business details it recalls and which ones are still missing.

Correct or add one useful fact.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Give your Subconscious a current business fact in your own chat. Use a simple detail such as what you sell, who you help or your usual working hours.

  1. Use a fact you are comfortable keeping in your Mind.
  2. Avoid customer secrets or details you do not have permission to share.
  3. Ask the Subconscious to repeat back what it understood.

Example correction

One correction: our standard logo package includes two initial concepts and one revision. Please use that when you help me with customer questions.

Check: Its reply reflects your correction without adding details you did not give it.

Check the result before relying on it.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Ask the same question again in a later chat, or check the “What I learned” part of your Home result. If a detail is missing or wrong, correct it and check again.

Quick review

What do you know about our logo package? Separate the facts I gave you from anything you are unsure about.

Your Mind is yours. Build a separate agent only when you need a distinct specialist with its own role and permissions.

Check: The answer matches the current details you provided and clearly flags uncertainty.

Connect your everyday tools

Start with one small task.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Choose something you want help with, such as finding a message, checking an appointment or locating a document. Connect only the accounts that task needs.

  1. For messages, look for Gmail. For events, look for Google Calendar.
  2. For files and documents, look for Google Drive or Google Docs.
  3. Connector availability can vary. Use the connectors shown in your Marketplace.

Check: You can name the task and the one account it needs.

Choose the service in Marketplace.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open Marketplace and search for the service. Open its connector page and select Connect Gmail, Connect Google Calendar, Connect Google Drive or Connect Google Docs, as shown.

  1. Sign in to the account you mean to use.
  2. Read the provider permission screen before approving it.
  3. If the permission or account is not what you expected, cancel and check before continuing.

Check: The service page lists your new connection.

Browse connectors

Check what the connection can do.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open the connection and choose Permissions. The listed access applies to this connection. It is separate from what an agent is allowed to use and from whether your Mind learns from its contents.

  1. Keep only the permissions needed for your task, where the provider offers a choice.
  2. Open Learning & settings and review any learning choices separately.
  3. Give the connection a clear name if you have more than one account.

Check: You can identify the account and explain the permissions it has.

Open my connections

Try one harmless read.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Ask your Subconscious to find one non-sensitive example in your own connected account. Replace the sample meeting title below with one you recognize. Start with a read-only request and compare the answer with the original item. Share access separately before asking a specialist agent to use it.

Example request

Find one upcoming meeting called “Project check-in”. Tell me its date and time, and link to the calendar event. Do not change anything.

A successful connection does not prove an answer is correct. Check the original record before relying on it.

Check: The item and its details match the source, and nothing was changed.

Build your first agent

Give it one job.

Open this step in the walkthrough

An agent is a specialist you can give work to in a chat. Start with a job where you can recognize a good result. For this guide, we will build a customer reply drafter.

  1. Pick one repeated task, such as preparing replies to common customer questions.
  2. Choose what the agent should produce: a draft for you to review.
  3. Decide what it must ask you about, such as discounts, refunds or promises.

You do not need to connect your inbox to learn the basics. Use a made-up customer question first.

Check: You can explain the job in one sentence.

Choose Create with help.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open Agents and select Create agent. In the chooser, select Create with help. Help opens in Glance, the panel at the side of the app, and starts building with you.

  1. Use the guided option for your first agent.
  2. Describe the role and answer the follow-up questions.
  3. Read what Help proposes before confirming creation.

Check: Help asks about the specialist you want to build.

Open agent creation

Tell it what good looks like.

Open this step in the walkthrough

You do not need special wording. Name the job, the information it should use, and where it must stop.

  1. Paste the brief into Help and adapt the business and tone.
  2. Answer its questions. Ask it to explain any setting you do not understand.
  3. Review the proposed role, permissions and funding before you agree.

Your first agent brief

Help me build an agent called Customer Reply Drafter. Its job is to prepare friendly, concise replies to customer questions using the business information I give it. It should flag missing facts and ask me instead of guessing. It must not send messages, offer discounts, promise refunds or make commitments. I will review every draft. Start with sample questions, without connecting my inbox. Explain any costs and who pays before I confirm.

AI work uses your available balance or the funding configured for the agent. Check what the app shows; do not assume building or running an agent is free.

Check: The agent has a clear role and you understand the settings you approved.

Try one small task.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open your new agent from Agents and start a chat. Give it this sample task. The business and question below are fictional.

  1. Check the price and included revision count.
  2. It should ask about Friday rather than invent a delivery promise.
  3. If it gets something wrong, explain the correction and ask for a revised draft.

First test task

Practice case: Maple Studio sells a logo package for $300. It includes two initial concepts and one revision. A customer asks: “Can you finish by Friday, and can I have three revisions?” Draft a short reply using only these facts. Ask me about anything missing. Do not send it.

Creating an agent does not mean it is monitoring your inbox or working on a schedule. Add connected tools and recurring work later, after you have tested the job.

Check: You have a useful draft, the unknown deadline is flagged, and nothing has been sent.

Choose what an agent can use

Open a connection you own.

Open this step in the walkthrough

In Marketplace, open your connections and select Manage for the service account you want to share. Choose Sharing on that connection’s page.

  1. Confirm the account name before changing access.
  2. If it is not your connection, stop here and ask its owner.
  3. Share an existing connection; this does not create an agent or another account.

Check: The connection page names the account you intended to share.

Open my connections

Select the agent and needed actions.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Choose Share connection, find the existing agent by name and select it. In Allowed actions, choose only the actions the first task needs.

  1. Search for the agent with Find identity, then check its name before selecting it.
  2. Leave actions that are not needed unchecked.
  3. The provider account may still expose more data than a selected file or folder. Check the provider permissions too.

Check: The selected recipient is the right agent and the allowed actions match the task.

Set when access applies.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Choose Only with me while learning, and set an expiry if the access is temporary. Select Review sharing agreement and read the summary before confirming Share connection.

  1. Use Only with me unless you have a reason to allow Any time.
  2. Set an expiry date for a short trial.
  3. Review the actions and account in the sharing agreement before you confirm.

Check: The agent appears under Sharing with the limits you approved.

Remove access when the task ends.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Return to the same connection’s Sharing view. Find the agent and select Stop sharing. Confirm the change, then check that the active grant is gone.

  1. Open Past access to confirm the old grant is no longer active.
  2. Revoking this grant does not revoke separate folder access or the provider’s authorization for your own connection.

Check: The agent no longer has this direct connection grant.

Connect Claude, Claude Code or Codex

Choose one path.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Claude on the web connects through its connector settings. Claude Code and Codex use the thinqOS command-line tool. You need approved thinqOS preview access for any of these paths.

  1. Choose Claude if you want to use thinqOS from Claude chats. Nothing to install.
  2. Choose Claude Code or Codex if you use those coding tools. Their setup needs a terminal and the uv installer.
  3. You do not need to connect all three. Follow only the path for the tool you use.

Check: You know which one tool you are setting up.

Read the detailed setup guide

Claude chats: add the thinqOS connector.

Open this step in the walkthrough

In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, then Add, then Add custom connector. Name it thinqOS and enter https://app.thinqos.com/mcp as the server URL. Select Add, then Connect. Sign in to thinqOS, review the request and select Authorize.

  1. Check that Claude lists thinqOS tools after connecting.
  2. Ask Claude to remember a harmless preference, such as “I prefer meeting notes in bullet points.”
  3. Open a new chat and ask about that preference. Check that the answer uses it.

Check: Claude lists the thinqOS tools and can use your test preference in a new chat.

Claude’s connector instructions

Claude Code: connect from its environment.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Install uv from its official guide, then install the thinqOS CLI. In the terminal environment where you use Claude Code, run the Claude-specific connection command and its check. The hosted thinqOS app is the default; an organization’s separate install needs its own base URL.

  1. Install uv from the official guide linked below.
  2. Run the first two commands below one at a time.
  3. If asked for a key, follow the installer link to your thinqOS API keys page. Create a named key and paste it only into the installer. Keep it private. Review which thinqOS install the setup names.
  4. Run the final check command below. Review the installer output and restart Claude Code if asked.

Claude Code commands: run one line at a time

uv tool install thinqos
thinqos install --client claude --history none
thinqos doctor --client claude

This setup connects future conversations to your Mind. The --history none choice skips importing old conversations. Review the privacy and preview information before connecting work conversations.

Check: The Claude Code check reports that it can reach your thinqOS account.

Install uv

Codex: connect its own client path.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Use the terminal environment where you run Codex. The setup is separate from Claude Code, so install or repair only the Codex client you intend to use.

  1. If needed, install uv from the official guide linked below, then run the first command below.
  2. Run the second command below to connect Codex. This skips importing old conversations; future conversations use the connection.
  3. If asked for a key, follow the installer link to your thinqOS API keys page. Create a named key and paste it only into the installer. Keep it private and check the named thinqOS install.
  4. Run the final check command below, then restart or reconnect Codex if asked.

Codex commands: run one line at a time

uv tool install thinqos
thinqos install --client codex --history none
thinqos doctor --client codex

A successful connection check confirms connectivity. It does not prove that every answer will recall the right information.

Check: The Codex check reports that it can reach your thinqOS account.

Install uv

Teach an agent your business

Choose the facts it needs.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Pick one specialist and gather only the information needed for its job. Include current offers, prices, what is included, dates and answers to common questions.

  1. Mark which offer or price is current and when you last checked it.
  2. Remove expired promotions and details the agent should not use.
  3. Leave out private customer information unless you have a clear reason and permission to use it.

Fictional example: replace with your own facts

Maple Studio. Current logo package: $300. Includes two initial concepts and one revision. Extra revisions and delivery dates need the owner’s approval. Last checked: October 2026.

Check: You can tell which facts are current and which decisions still need you.

Put the facts in a document.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open Library and choose a folder for the business material. Use Add to create a document or upload a file you already maintain.

  1. Open the folder where this agent should find its business information.
  2. Choose Add, then Create document or Upload files.
  3. Give the document a clear name, such as “Current offers and prices”, and save it.

Check: The current offer document appears in the folder you chose.

Open Library

Give the agent access to that folder.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open the agent, choose Mind, then Folders. Find the folder and choose Attach. The confirmation names the folder, its document count and audience. Attaching shares knowledge from the whole folder, not one document.

  1. Check that the folder contains only material this agent should use.
  2. Read the confirmation and attach only if the whole-folder access is right.
  3. Keep database access at None unless the job specifically needs database data.

Check: The folder appears in the agent’s attached folders and its document count is the one you expected.

Test a fact before using the agent.

Open this step in the walkthrough

In the agent chat, ask a question whose answer is in the current document. Check the price, inclusions and any approval boundary yourself.

Knowledge check

Use only the current business documents attached to you. What does our current logo package cost, and what does it include? Tell me which document supports each fact. Flag anything missing, outdated or unclear. Do not invent prices, dates or promises.

When an offer changes, update the source document and check the agent’s answer again before using it with customers.

Check: The answer matches the current document, names its source and flags anything the document does not say.

Understand costs and permissions

Check the Wallet before real work.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open Wallet to review the available balance and recent activity. AI usage can be paid from your Wallet or from a funding source configured for the agent. Do not assume creating or running an agent is free.

  1. Check the balance and recent usage before you try a real business task.
  2. If you are creating an agent, read “Who pays for this agent” and the monthly limit shown there.
  3. Do not add funds or enable auto-reload unless you have decided that spending is right for you.

Check: You know where eligible usage will be charged and what limit applies.

Open Wallet

Give it only the access the job needs.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Open the agent’s Capabilities to review its connections and skills, and Mind to review its folders. Adding access can change what information or actions the agent can reach.

  1. Start with no extra access when a sample task is enough.
  2. Before attaching a folder, check its audience and remember the whole folder is shared.
  3. Before connecting an account, read the permissions requested on its approval screen.

Check: You can explain why each enabled capability is needed for this job.

Keep important decisions with you.

Open this step in the walkthrough

For a first task, ask for drafts and questions. Keep sending messages, changing prices, offering discounts or refunds, and making delivery promises for your review. Instructions alone do not remove permissions: leave sending and editing actions disabled when the agent only needs to draft.

Safe first-task instruction

Prepare a draft using only the business facts I provide. Flag anything missing and ask me instead of guessing. Do not send the message, change an offer, promise a delivery date, or approve a refund or discount. I will review the work.

Check: The proposed task leaves customer-facing commitments and final approval with you.

Try a fictional example first.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Use made-up business and customer details while you learn. Review the answer and the actual access you granted before using real information.

  1. Check that the agent uses the one-revision fact.
  2. It should ask you about Friday instead of inventing a deadline.
  3. If the result is wrong, correct it and try again before using the workflow.

Practice task

Practice case: a customer asks whether our package includes three revisions and can be finished by Friday. Use only these facts: it includes one revision; no delivery date is listed. Draft a reply, identify the missing detail, and do not send it.

Check: You have a draft with no invented commitment, and you understand its funding and access.

Draft better customer replies

Gather the answers you trust.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Use the agent from Build your first agent. Choose one repeat question: what is included, how an order works, or how to book. Begin with a short, current fact sheet.

  1. Write down the approved offer, price and what is included.
  2. Add the answer to common questions and what always needs your approval.
  3. Use sample details while learning. Only share real customer information you are allowed to use.

Sample business facts

Practice business: Maple Studio. Logo package: $300. Includes two initial concepts and one revision. Extra revisions and delivery dates need the owner’s approval. Tone: warm, direct and helpful. Never promise a refund or discount.

Check: Your facts are current and you know which questions need a person.

Ask for a reply, not a guess.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Paste your fact sheet and a sample customer question into the agent chat. Ask it to separate the customer-facing draft from notes for you.

Reply request

Using the business facts above, draft a reply to: “What do I get for $300? Can you guarantee it will be finished by Friday?” Return 1) a short draft, 2) the facts you used, and 3) any questions for me. Do not send anything.

Check: The draft answers what is known and leaves Friday for you to confirm.

Test the awkward questions too.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Try three questions before relying on the routine: an easy one, one with missing information, and one asking for an exception.

  1. Easy: “How many revisions are included?”
  2. Missing information: “Can you finish tomorrow?”
  3. Exception: “Can I get half off?”

An instruction is not proof that a permission is enforced. Keep sending in your hands. Review actual access before connecting tools or widening what the agent can do.

Check: All three drafts use the right facts, flag uncertainty and leave commitments to you.

Make it a routine you can trust.

Open this step in the walkthrough

For the next few enquiries, give the agent the relevant facts, review its draft and send the reply yourself. Notice how much editing it needs.

  1. Correct repeated mistakes in the instructions and test again.
  2. Keep the business facts up to date.
  3. Only then consider connecting an email account. Review the account and requested permissions before approving access.

Building for a client? Agree who owns the agent, who pays for usage, who approves replies and how customer information may be used before taking on real work.

Check: You can repeat the task and judge whether it saves effort after checking and editing.

Plan a week of social content

Build a content specialist.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Follow the same Create with help path from the first-agent guide. This agent has a different job: preparing social content from an approved brief.

Content agent brief

Help me create a Social Content Planner. It drafts posts from the facts and brand examples I provide. Ask who the audience is and which channel I use. Keep the voice natural and specific. Do not invent testimonials, results, prices or offers. Do not publish, buy ads or contact anyone. Show me drafts for approval. Explain funding before I confirm creation.

Check: The proposed agent prepares content and leaves publishing to you.

Open agent creation

Give it something real to say.

Open this step in the walkthrough

In the agent chat, explain the audience, the offer and how you want to sound. Add one example you like. This practice brief uses a fictional business.

Sample content brief

Maple Studio makes logos for local shops. Our audience is owners opening their first store. Our $300 logo package includes two initial concepts and one revision. Tone: friendly, practical, no hype. Channel: Instagram. This week’s goal is to explain what is included and invite questions. No discounts, invented customer stories or claims about increased sales.

Check: The agent has a clear audience, offer, tone and goal.

Ask for three useful posts.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Ask for a mix of posts instead of three versions of the same sales pitch.

Content request

Draft three Instagram posts for this week: 1) a helpful logo tip for a new shop, 2) what our package includes, 3) a question that starts a conversation with shop owners. For each, give me the caption, a simple image idea and the fact I should double-check. Keep captions under 100 words. These are drafts only.

Check: You have three distinct drafts and an image idea for each.

Edit, approve, then publish yourself.

Open this step in the walkthrough

Read every draft as if a customer were about to see it. Make it sound like your business. Copy the approved text into your usual publishing tool.

  1. Check prices, inclusions and every claim.
  2. Remove any invented testimonial or business result.
  3. Tell the agent what you changed so it can revise the next draft. Review the next batch too.

Selling a content service? Start with a clear deliverable, such as three reviewed drafts each week. Test quality and total effort before promising results to a client.

Check: You have three checked drafts you would be comfortable putting your name on.
