Unfinished learning is a real kind of work
A conversation can leave unresolved contradictions, scattered evidence or a correction that has not been connected to earlier decisions. Reviewing that material outside the foreground task can be useful.
A quiet period provides an opportunity. Inactivity alone does not prove there is useful learning to do.
Select, review and validate
thinqOS contains background mechanisms for selecting experience, consolidating memory, changing prominence, proposing connections and validating candidates. The architecture uses sleep-inspired names for stages.
The names are an organizing metaphor, not a claim of biological sleep. Proposals need evidence checks and must respect protected information and access boundaries.
Separate a proposal from a fact
Two memories being similar can suggest a connection. It does not prove the connection is true. A generalization should remain provisional when its evidence is weak.
The system needs a way to hold back unsupported changes and carry unresolved work forward rather than claiming every cycle produced an insight.
Measure the next task
A report that a background job ran is operational evidence. Improvement means later recall, reasoning or efficiency got better on a relevant test.
The full restoration and calibration architecture remains broader than the measured mechanisms. Compare before and after outcomes, including regressions. Do not infer intelligence gains from a completed maintenance counter.
